Director of Crop Innovation

Precision Biosciences is seeking a seasoned scientist manager with experience in metabolic engineering and genomics, to drive its pipeline of genome editing programs in agriculture focused on improving human health, wellness and sustainability. This individual will be responsible for building and leading a team dedicated to the translational development activities necessary to advance these programs to create innovative, healthy and sustainable food solutions.

The Director of Crop Innovation will report to the President of PlantSciences. The successful candidate will be a hands-on, participative manager who will make significant contributions to the strategy and execution within a diverse R&D organization.

Position Summary

The Director of Crop Innovation (DCI) serves as the head of all internal and external research and development activities at Precision PlantSciences. The DCI is also assigned the responsibility of expanding applications of Precisionís ARCUS genome editing platform in all aspects of translational agriculture to realize the Companyís strategic growth and mission. As an experienced professional in plant sciences, the Director of Crop Innovation plays a key role in identifying disruptive technologies and collaborations in genomics, molecular breeding and metabolic engineering to complement ARCUS-driven initiatives. In addition to managing R&D programs, the DCI will contribute up to 30% of his/her time working with Precisionís CEO and the President of the PlantSciences team to generate impactful product concepts and other business development activities.
