Summer Intern - Program & Process Management

Location: Durham, NC

Summary

Precision BioSciences Summer Internship Program allows current students the opportunity to complete a combination of larger projects to solve a key problem and day to day tasks to better understand what a career in the given field entails. Interns will also participate in group learning and networking opportunities and enhance presentation skills through a capstone presentation at the end of the summer.

This position is a full-time internship, working 40 hours per week for approximately 12 weeks in the summer.

The Program and Process Management Intern will work to develop a tool to track and monitor invoices against approved contracts and Scopes of Work. In addition, this intern will help build tools to initiate projects and link to a portfolio tracker. Lastly, this intern will help establish a SharePoint framework to facilitate communication between teams.

  • Determine efficient tracking tools to track expenses against contracts and Scopes of Work
  • Generate and develop templated timelines to facilitate portfolio tracking
  • Gain experience with Smartsheet Program Management software to support timeline generation, visualization, and communication
  • Utilize Microsoft Office Suite to aid in project communication

Qualifications

The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required to perform this job successfully.

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (rising Senior) or a Graduate degree in biological sciences, chemistry, engineering, business, or an applicable field
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Knowledge of scheduling tools (i.e., Smartsheet, MS Project, etc.) preferred, but not required
  • Experience working across teams to align schedules and expectations
  • Strong stakeholder communication skills to ensure all parties are aligned

  • This is a primarily office-based position associated with the main headquarters in Durham, NC.
